I'd rate it higher but the mosquitoes are unbelievably bad. Peaceful but your lucky if you don't end up with west Nile or Zika!

beautiful landscape and wildlife. many thanks to the dedicated rangers and parks employees that keep our outdoor spaces safe for us, and for the wildlife. good facilities. bring bug spray, there are loads of bugs, but it is what birds eat, so it makes sense.

Gets better every year. Be sure to use the private spa rooms as well as the pond. Arrive early in the day to get a spot to camp or call ahead.

Malheur is a wetland in the desert. It's a great place to see birds and to get away from busy city life. Be prepared for lots of driving and bring bug repellent.

46 years of visits, it just gets more important as a flyway, breeding sanctuary, birding site and wildlife facilty. Science and research work is significant. Great staff.
