I have been going to the cave since 1955. The Masonic Lodge in Burns owns the property and allows the public in. It is worth the trip. The inside and outside was covered with obsidian, when I was a kid, which was used for arrowheads and knives when the local tribe was under siege many years ago. No obsidian to be found anymore. It is an old lave tube that goes a couple of miles under a lake and mountain. Please be respectful so it will remain open to the public.

I don't understand what made me drive 6 & a half hours to view this place, but it was worth it, it's not every day you can go to a cave you can drive right up to. The entrance looks small and unassuming but when you go inside it quickly becomes very unexpectedly large.

Camping area for the Masonic Lodge members.
