This place is pretty neat. We were driving along Steens Mountain Rd and we saw a sign that said "Riddle Brother Ranch". We had time so we decided to take a detour. The road it pretty long. It's starts out as paved but turns in to dirt road at about mid way. I wouldn't suggest driving there in the rain. Could be difficult. Once you finally get there, it's like a hidden gem. BLM hires caretakers to stay in a cabin. When we got there, the caretaker introduced himself and shows us around. The history behind this place is pretty amazing. Anyone who is a history junky like me will love visiting this place. We ended up staying a couple hours. The caretaker showed us the way to a hike were you can see the little blitzes river meets the Donnerund Blitzen river. We hiked about 30 minutes and couldn't find it. So I would suggest skipping that adventure. The river has some great little cooling spots if you get hot. Overall a great experience. Would love to go back and show more people.
